Hi Christoph — I had a bit of a cringe when you called us “Apple Lovers”. Apple gets a lot of things wrong — I am actually quite unhappy about a lot of UI decisions in Big Sur. But with the Macintosh and the iPhone they simply defined the visual language of the two dominant digital product types of our age.

I still stand with my critique of Material design. The concept and the UI guidelines are amazing! But so far they have not translated into a really great product.

But I agree with your last point. Material design has been an incredible influence — especially to web design. This is something that we should appreciate more. I will discuss this with Frank — we might add that point to the section.
